In the game, you play as Adam Jensen, a former SWAT team member chosen to protect the secrets of one of the most experimental biotech companies in the United States. When a secret service team raids the complex, killing the scientists you were supposed to protect, everything you thought you knew about your job changes.
After being critically injured during the attack, you have no choice but to be fitted with mechanical augmentations before setting out across the world to find clues as to what happened, never knowing who to trust.
