VOLTA MODE

EA SPORTS VOLTA takes the game back to the streets with the authentic culture, creativity and style of the small-sided game. Create your character and play your way in diverse environments around the world.

VOLTA Gameplay: Express your style with an entirely new gameplay system driven by authenticity. Inspired by the authentic small-sided football played in the streets, cages, and futsal fields of the world; VOLTA gameplay offers new tools to immerse you in the reality of the street, including simplified flicks and skill moves, new animations, and even the ability to use the wall as a sideline.

Player: VOLTA Football allows you to customize your player in a variety of ways, from clothing and hairstyles to tattoos and in-game celebratory emotes. Create your own male or female character and take to the field in one of the many match types available in VOLTA Football.

Apparel: Show off your style in VOLTA by picking out the latest items for your player, from shirts and shoes to hoodies, as well as different tattoos and hairstyles. Unlock more items by completing challenges.

Locations: VOLTA Football brings football playgrounds from around the world to life. From an underpass in Amsterdam, to a cage in the suburbs of London, to the rooftops of Tokyo, VOLTA Football gives you the ability to experience football from different locations around the world.

Match Types: Customization is the watchword behind VOLTA mode. Play 3v3 without goalkeepers, 4v4, 4v4 without goalkeepers, 5v5 and matches with the official rules of futsal. VOLTA mode also offers arenas and environments of different sizes, with or without walls, to enjoy the beautiful game however you want.

Mode:

VOLTA Kick-Off: Pick your favorite teams and take to the streets to compete in a variety of different locations and formats. Play PSG vs. Lyon in Paris, the Madrid Derby on the streets of Spain, or Chelsea vs. Spurs in a cage in London.

VOLTA World Tour: Build your VOLTA team by playing single-player matches against community squads in a variety of formats and locations. After each victory, you’ll be able to recruit a player from the opposing team and improve your squad’s quality and chemistry.

VOLTA Story: Experience a narrative-driven experience with your player as you take on street soccer legends from around the world. Earn rewards, customize your player, and recruit players to your squad, culminating in the VOLTA World Championship tournament in Buenos Aires.

VOLTA League: Play the VOLTA League online, with promotion and relegation. The new player-versus-player format lets you compete against other users online. Win enough matches to move up a division.

GAMEPLAY:

Experience FOOTBALL INTELLIGENCE, a shift in perspective that delivers an unprecedented level of realism. FOOTBALL INTELLIGENCE lets you live every moment on the pitch: on the ball, off the ball, and through the ball. Built on three key elements: Decisive Moments (on the ball), Authentic Play (off the ball), and Ball Physics (through the ball), this approach is designed to put you at the center of every match.

Authentic Flow: Awareness of time, space, and position are essential qualities for a world-class footballer. With Authentic Flow, every AI-controlled player will act with these components in mind, creating a scenario that offers more time and space and places more emphasis on user-controlled play.

Dynamic One-on-Ones: Revised gameplay based on the pace of the world's top leagues allows for more realistic space and pace, creating more one-on-one opportunities and placing a greater emphasis on user-controlled Decisive Moments.

AI Defending: An overhauled positioning and tackling system allows AI teammates to better react to the user-controlled player. AI will offer more intelligent defensive support, while rewarding and benefiting manual defending.

Natural Player Movement: Innovations in mobility and positioning allow AI players to move in a more fluid and composed manner, creating lifelike player movements for everyone on the pitch.

Decisive Moments: Football is made up of a series of crucial moments that determine the outcome of a match. From Controlled Finishing in the final third to Controlled Tackling in defence, matches will now be won or lost through user-controlled Decisive Moments.

Strafe Dribbling: The new strafe dribbling mechanic adds an additional option in attack, giving you the ability to move with greater agility to lure your opponent in and then outrun or outdraw them.

Controlled Tackling: Using the Active Touch system, user-controlled defending will have an advantage, with a series of new tackling animations. The cleaner the tackle, the more likely players are to win the ball.

Set Piece Update: A system update that provides more specific options for first-time free kicks and penalties, introducing more skill-based kicking mechanics that deliver even more rewarding results.

Controlled Finishing: An overhaul of the fundamentals of shooting will allow you to finish with greater accuracy and effectiveness. This creates a more lifelike shooting experience that rewards the best finishes and presents risk and reward in more challenging situations, like volleys off crosses.

Ball Physics: The ball is the most dynamic element of a match. The ball physics system brings a new level of realism to gameplay, offering new shot trajectories, more realistic tackles and behaviors that obey the laws of physics.

Informed Movement: The revamped movement system introduces more realistic rotations for the ball and bounces, which now occur more realistically than before. This helps create a more lifelike football experience.

New Shot Trajectories: The new ball movement system adds a variety of realistic shot trajectories, from dipping shots and rebounds to curling set pieces and first-time shots.
