Hundreds of years after the battle for the red surface of Genesis Terra, humans colonized the blue planet. The Outers, people born with special abilities thanks to exposure to the energy resource Femto, resented the cruelty meted out to them by the human race on this new and dangerous planet. They seized control of Eden, a collection of orbital defense satellites, from which they ruled the planet below with the military might of the Sovereign Axiom. While humans on the surface struggled to survive the elements and a race of biomechanical creatures known as the Immortals, the Reclaimer organization fomented a resistance against the Axiom's ruthless rule. When an exiled Outer crashed in the desert of the largest human settlement, hopes arose that it held the key to turning the tide of the last revolution.
