Light manages with ingenuity and with the help of Ryuk to divert most of the suspicions that Elle has about him, so much so that the spy cameras are removed from her house. But Elle works on intuition, and in the back of her mind a worm fuels the distrust she feels towards Light. The mysterious super investigator therefore decides not to abandon the Light trail, but to completely change his approach. Without revealing her real name, Elle introduces herself directly to Light, with the aim of closely studying his moves and reactions. The two adversaries are now face to face, in a deadly game that will be won by the most cunning.
