The First World War spread across the mountains of the Italian front, beautiful and lethal in equal measure.
Set during the two-year conflict for control of the Alps and the Isonzo River Valley during World War I, Isonzo elevates the war game series, both figuratively and literally! Lead the charge across breathtaking Italian landscapes on your path to victory: take shortcuts across barbed wire fences, flank enemies along mountain paths, or blast your way through with mortar fire. Shape a dynamic battlefield by placing sandbags, barbed wire, ammo crates, trench periscopes, sniper shields, and more.
Take part in historical warfare, from the Sixth Battle of the Isonzo to the Battle of the Plateaus. Following the course of real battles, as the attackers advance the fighting moves to very different environments: from hilltop fortresses to mountain trenches, to fierce urban warfare on the city streets. From the sound effects to the uniforms, to the houses, vineyards and trenches, everything is recreated based on research and on-site travel. You've never experienced the action of the First World War like this!
