The hunt for the Crystal Stars begins

After receiving a call for help from Princess Peach, Mario sets out for Slacker Town. But when he arrives, he discovers that the princess has disappeared! So, after learning about the legend of the Crystal Stars, he sets out to find them, hoping that they will lead him to Peach.

Of course, there are others who want the Crystal Stars, too... And this time Bowser won't be the only one to put a spoke in Mario's wheels! Will our hero be able to find these ancient treasures, open the Thousand-Year Door, and maybe even... save the world?

A paper world full of surprises

To find the Crystal Stars, you’ll have to explore far and wide, even beyond the walls of Slackertown! All sorts of discoveries and situations await you: a giant dragon nestling in a terrifying castle, a cursed village shrouded in eternal twilight, daring investigations on a moving train, and more!

When it comes to exploring, Mario's ability to transform into paper will come in very handy! Take on the form of a paper plane or the thickness of a sheet of paper to fly over obstacles or squeeze through tight spaces. And there are more abilities to be found!

A group of comrades

Throughout your journey, you’ll encounter a diverse cast of characters who are happy to join you. In addition to helping you track down the Crystal Stars, these allies will add a touch of color to your adventure!

Each of them has their own unique abilities. For example, Goombella can reveal information about enemies or locations, Koopal can grab objects out of your reach, and Madam Spiru can blow away obstacles to reveal hidden paths and more. You can also use these abilities in battle to give yourself an edge over your enemies.

The battle theatre

Spotted enemies? Face them in turn-based battles, in front of a fiery crowd! You have all sorts of attacks at your disposal to dispatch your opponents, including moves obtained by equipping special tiles and strikes that channel the power of Crystal Stars.

Press the buttons at the right time to improve the power of your attacks or reduce the damage you take. The better you perform, the more the crowd will cheer for you!
