London, 1868. The Industrial Revolution has ushered in an era of extraordinary invention, transforming the lives of millions of people with technologies that until then had been thought simply impossible. Many have flocked to London in hopes of seizing the opportunities of this new world. A world no longer controlled by kings, emperors, politicians or religions, but by a new common denominator, money.
But not everyone has been able to enjoy the benefits of this extraordinary economic revival. Despite fueling the engine of the British Empire, the workers are nothing more than legalized slaves, while only a tiny percentage grow rich, profiting from their hard work. Living in abject poverty and dying in the prime of their life, the lower classes decide to unite their protest, forming a series of criminal gangs in the slums, who begin to fight for their survival. A desperate fight, at least until the Assassins decide to fight alongside them, reigniting a centuries-old conflict that will involve the most important leaders of London and that will rise from the slums to leave an indelible mark on modern history.

Take on the role of the charismatic and rebellious Jacob Frye and engage your enemies with deadly counters and quick multi-kills. Improvise stealth infiltration techniques to evade your opponents and eliminate them with an arsenal of new weapons, including the kukri knife, brass knuckles and animated cane. Use new technologies, such as the rope launcher, to scale buildings in seconds and surprise your enemies.
