Death Note 9

To recover the Notebook stolen by Mello, Kira gives his own to the headquarters, which in exchange lends itself to a forceful operation against the criminal gang. Ryuk participates in the plan, and convinces Sidoh not to warn Mello and his accomplices, with the promise that he will then be given his Notebook back. To make the operation successful, Soichiro Yagami makes the exchange of eyes, and thus discovers Mello's real name. He tells Light, without however writing it in the notebook, in the hope of convincing Mello to surrender. Light's father is instead mortally wounded in a shootout and Mello escapes after blowing up his hideout.
