Grab, jump, reach impervious areas, fight, avoid enemies, survive. The new Prince of Persia does not lack any of the features that made the series famous both in the days of the two dimensions and in the recent exploits of the 3D adventures published on PlayStation 2 and GameCube.

Yet this Prince of Persia is a completely new game, so different from the trilogy that preceded it that it makes you think of a completely new franchise. But no. The fact is that both the graphics designed for the occasion and numerous gameplay choices make this Prince of Persia an unusual episode.

Some might see this as a sign of Ubisoft's strategy, which after the success of Assassin's Creed prefers to leave Altair the path of realism and the Prince of Persia the path of experimentation. It is no coincidence that the engine used for Prince of Persia is the same as Assassin's Creed.

An engine covered with cel-shaded graphics that make the adventures of the prince and his companion highly fascinating. The Ubisoft title seems like a French comic book that comes to life: perhaps we are wrong, but this Prince of Persia seems to owe a debt to the French tradition of illustration.
