EA SPORTS FC 25 is the new football title from Electronic Arts.

A very interesting novelty is FCIQ, a very promising tactical artificial intelligence organism, which could exponentially increase the range of strategic options available to players and, consequently, make the experience more varied and deep, the ideal way to modernise the positioning tactics of the players on the pitch and to strengthen their strategic intelligence.

Created on the basis of cutting-edge AI capable of processing thousands of data in a few fractions of a second, FCIQ aims to significantly expand the number of schemes on which you can build your vision of football without falling back on the usual 3 or 4 most effective formations. But how does it work? It is based on the introduction of "Player Roles", which establish the way in which each player behaves in relation to the movements of his teammates but also to the various situations that develop on the pitch, especially when not in possession of the ball. Through a screen that can be accessed both in the preparation of the match and during the match, we can set the position of each player in the formation and the type of attitude we expect to see on the pitch from our favourites.

For example, if we have a midfielder who is good at lightning sprints, we can decide to have him attack the depth more often, exploiting the spaces left by the forwards in order to maximise goal-scoring opportunities, or take the same player and set him up as a playmaker, more focused on creating opportunities for his teammates.

EA added that its AI will process data from individual player performances during matches in major leagues on a weekly basis to adjust their effectiveness in certain roles. With over 50 roles confirmed at launch and many more to come with ad-hoc updates throughout the life of the title, we are faced with a truly interesting tool with great potential.

Those who want to get straight onto the pitch can always use a series of useful suggestions offered by the game to have a fairly competitive formation. EA Sports FC 25 also allows you to import tactics created by other users through a system of shareable codes or to shape your own playing style based on that shown by the most influential coaches on the planet. Let's also spend a few words on the new Smart Tactics, a set of maneuvers that can be recalled in real time that allow you to vary the team's conformation or its offensive and defensive inclination in a flash but also to put a specific scheme on the pitch (such as offside traps or high pressing) and to make substitutions on the fly without breaking the flow of the action.

A space was also dedicated to FC RUSH, a content strongly aimed at sharing that, in some ways, takes the place of Volta Football, thanks to a very similar concept, with two small teams facing each other on a small pitch.

In RUSH, fast-paced matches take place on a small pitch and generally follow the typical rules of five-a-side football, with "all-round" players called upon to alternate seamlessly between attack and defence. Four users will take control of as many athletes on the pitch while the AI ​​​​manages the behaviour of the goalkeeper (although the team captain is granted the ability to make some changes to the positioning of the goalkeeper, acting on the right stick or pressing the button relating to the early exit from the goalposts).

RUSH matches are uncertain until the last second, featuring frequent reversals of the field, repeated 1-on-1 dribbling situations. This does not mean, however, that RUSH is devoid of the tactics and depth that one would expect from a high-level soccer match, on the contrary. First of all, communication between users is fundamental: if all members of the team play too aggressively, you risk being completely exposed to the opponent's counterattack.
