Akane is a college student who has just been dumped by her boyfriend. Still heartbroken, she decides to stop playing the online RPG they started together. Instead of deleting her account, however, she logs into the server to defeat some low-level monsters, hoping to distract herself and release some stress. That's when she meets Yamada, a professional gamer so shy and solitary that he arouses conflicting emotions in the young girl. When Akane runs into her ex at a video game convention, she impulsively decides to pass Yamada off as her new boyfriend! Soon the two find themselves spending more and more time together, between online and real life, but there's a small problem: Yamada is only interested in the game!
