In the game, you play as Adam Jensen, a former SWAT team member chosen to protect the secrets of one of the most experimental biotech companies in the United States. When a secret service team raids the complex, killing the scientists you were supposed to protect, everything you thought you knew about your job changes.
After being critically injured during the attack, you have no choice but to be fitted with mechanical augmentations before setting out across the world to find clues as to what happened, never knowing who to trust. In an age where scientific advances are transforming athletes, soldiers and spies into super-gifted beings, there are those who plot in the shadows to ensure that the evolution of the human species follows a pre-determined path.
It is up to you to discover where this path leads, and the path you take will be influenced by the decisions you make and the choices you make.
