The left Joy-Con features a Capture Button that players can press to capture in-game screenshots to share with friends on social media. The right Joy-Con includes an NFC touchpoint that allows for interaction with amiibo, as well as an IR camera that can detect the distance, shape and movement of nearby objects in specially created games. This allows the controller to measure how far away a player’s hand is, for example, and even distinguish between rock, paper and scissors. Both Joy-Con include an advanced HD rumble function, which can deliver vibrations in compatible games that are far more realistic than before. The effect is so detailed that a player could, for example, feel the vibration of individual ice cubes colliding in a glass when a Joy-Con is shaken. HD rumble provides a level of realism that would otherwise only be possible with sound and visuals.

With Nintendo Switch, staying connected with other players is easier than ever: in wireless mode, up to eight consoles can connect to each other locally. Players can place the console anywhere thanks to its integrated stand, and then share the Joy-Con to have fun together even away from the TV.
